PUBLIC CAR PARKING
The YWE Show Site offers ample
car parking with easy access from Hunsworth Lane. On arriving to the
site entrance , please follow the
parking Marshals instructions.
The parking area is only a short walk to the main admission kiosk.
The Yorkshire Wartime event Organisers cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage or expenses incurred howsoever caused, including
theft.
Please ensure your vehicle is safe and secure before proceeding to
the main show ground admission
kiosk entrance.
PUBLIC CAMPING
A Public Camping Area is provided
for visitors who wish to camp with
modern tentage , caravan or motorhome.
Facilities are restricted to fresh water and W.C.
There are no electrical hook up
points available.
Special combined camping and show entrance admission rates are available.
Visitors wishing to use our camping facilities can download a booking form by clicking on the
RED BOOKING button.
All camping charges must be booked and paid for in advance
of the show dates.

FACILITIES FOR THE DISABLED
The Yorkshire Wartime Experience Show Site offers a number of facilities for our disabled visitors. The site is located on farmland which
inherently has grass areas , tarmac covered and graveled track areas. The site has various slopes and undulated areas. Wheelchairs may find some areas of the site difficult to negotiate. We do provide Disabled toilet facilities - seating areas to all refreshment points - and designated disabled car parking close to the payment kiosk entrance. It must also be noted the show has loud explosions and gun fire throughout the day.Guide dogs are welcome , although we request that all dogs must be on a leash at all times. VISITORS - INFORMATION
The North's Largest Military Vehicle and Re-enactment Show
The Yorkshire Wartime Experience currently holds the largest full scale re-creation of a ww1 trenching system in the North of England.The trench is very popular with visiting ww1 re-enactment groups & local schools & colleges. We currently have 8 ww1 groups booked in, & several local schools. We also have several original ww1 military vehicles, attending this year. The Yorkshire Wartime Experience, is the only show in the North of England, where you can see real wartime tanks, live firing their guns, in realistic battle re-enactments. We have two large scale WW1 & WW2 battles each day on a 12 acre site, incorporating its own ww2 trenching system of Allied & Axis troops which oppose each other. As well as tanks, each battle comprises, live firing artillery, mortar, bazooka, machine gun & rifle fire. Topped off with a large pyrotechnic display. This year we are commemorating & celebrating the great WWII conflicts of D-Day , now 75 years since this great moment in our war time history. Friday 5th July is dedicated as a schools day, where local school children are invited to walk round the site & interact with many of the displays, trenches, vehicles &
re-enactment groups up close.
NOW THE NORTHS Largest 1940s Re-enactment & Military vehicle Show,
The Yorkshire Wartime Experience, now in it's TENTH year, is a tribute to the First & Second World Wars, right through to more current conflicts. The show will run for 3 days. Held over a 58 acre site. The Yorkshire Wartime Experience has something for everyone. This year we are continuing the commemorating of the Centenary of the start of the First World War . There are special arena events & large full-scale battle re-enactments, incorporating, several live firing ww2 tanks, armoured vehicles & artillery fire, with spectacular pyrotechnics. 50 + Re-enactment living history groups, and over 500 Military vehicles and a huge amount of armour. Large Allied & Axis re-enactment camps and the recreation of a first world war trench. In the Marquee field you will find 40 + vintage, craft & military stalls, remote controlled tanks, children's war gaming & military model painting, funfair, paintball & airsoft firing ranges, static aircraft and the BBMF Flying Display. Entertainment by Paul Harper, The Ashby Big Band, plus special guests, demostrating and teaching 1940s Dance, onsite 1940s hair dresser. Fully licenced bar & food outlets. Special arena activities & displays inc: Saturday & Sunday - First & Second World War Battle Re-enactments, ww1 cavalry horse display, tanks in action firepower demonstrations, Home Guard display. Come and see the biggest recreation of a first world war trench, manned by ww1 re-enactment groups and the large D-Day encampment.
